Студенты Учебного центра «Арт-дизайн» — активные участники проектов Международного Российско-Бразильского центра
20.05.2026

Students of the Art-Design Educational Center are active participants in projects of the International Russian-Brazilian Center.

The International Russian-Brazilian Center successfully collaborates with the Art-Design Educational Center, under the direction of Associate Professor G.V. Volkova. Students of professors T.I. Borisova and G.I. Kobzeva have participated in many center's projects, presenting their creative works to both Russian and Brazilian audiences. The topics of their work vary widely depending on the events of the Brazilian Center. In 2025-2026, the Center participated in the celebration of the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, holding several events jointly with the RGS in Moscow and Brazil. Geography and diplomacy often go hand in hand. In Russian history, there are several significant figures associated with geographical research in Brazil. Perhaps the most outstanding of them is Grigory Ivanovich Langsdorf—a Russian scientist, naturalist, traveler, and diplomat, the founder of Russian American studies, who was appointed as a General Russian Consul in Rio de Janeiro in 1812. The establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and independent Brazil occurred later, in 1828, after its proclamation as an independent Republic. Thus, very soon we will celebrate the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries, which, although have experienced various coolings and interruptions, but have always been filled with genuine interest between our peoples. Therefore, the International Russian-Brazilian Center, together with the Art-Design Educational Center, has conceived the exhibition project "The City Where I Live," which will introduce Brazilian students to Russia through the creative works of RSUH students. The project envisions a reciprocal response from Brazilian universities. To kick off this project, Lyudmila Baturina, director of the Brazilian Center, led a tour of Moscow (Ostozhenka and Prechistenka) for Galina Kobzeva's students. The students learned about the history of this remarkable Moscow district, learned many different stories, explored old courtyards, and were inspired by the project's concept.
