A delegation from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, headed by Rector Roberto de Andrade Medronho, visited RSUH to discuss prospects for expanding scientific and educational cooperation between the universities.
“Our interest in developing relations with the Russian Federation is very strong. We would like to make our cooperation more engaging and dynamic, with new projects and initiatives. Our differences should not separate us from one another. On the contrary, they can enrich us mutually and help build a new world of cooperation and mutual understanding,” noted Rector Medronho.
During the talks, the parties discussed the main areas of cooperation, including the development of academic mobility programs, joint master’s and doctoral programs, as well as scientific and educational projects in the fields of humanities, psychology, and international relations.
“Today our University is one of the key institutions in the country in the field of social and humanitarian sciences. We feel very strong support from the Administration of the President and from the Government. I believe that scientific and educational cooperation with Latin America holds enormous potential, and I see that our University can become the instrument that will lay the foundations for a new level of cooperation on the scale of the Russian Federation,” said Rector Loginov.
Particular attention was paid to expanding the teaching of the Portuguese language and Brazilian literature at RSUH, and the teaching of Russian studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. During their visit, the guests from Brazil also visited the International Russian-Brazilian Center of RSUH, where they became acquainted with projects carried out within the framework of Russian-Brazilian cooperation.
