Hindi translation competition for Moscow universities students held at the Russian State University for the Humanities.

47 students fr om the various Moscow universities  such as –

the Institute of Asian and African studies Lomonosov Moscow State University,

Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO),

High School of Economics (HSE),

Moscow State Linguistic University,

Russian State University for the Humanities and

the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation  took part in the competition, which was organized jointly with the Indian community "Hindustani Samaj" on the  supporting of the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center, Embassy of India in Moscow.

The event was dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the famous Indian translator Professor Madan Lal Madhu, awardee of the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian state award in India.

This is an annual Hindi translation competition, wh ere students show Hindi language knowledge.  According to the competition terms, students made two types of written translation: Hindi to Russian and Russian to Hindi.

Shree Deepak Gauri, First Secretary of the Diaspora Affairs Department, Embassy of India to Russia in Moscow welcomed the students and thanked the RSUH for the opportunity to hold the inter-university competition. He also wished the students good luck and become winners.

Dr. Kashmir Singh, President of the Hindustani Samaj community noted that the first Hindi competition began in 2015. Therefore, this year we celebrated 10 years anniversary.

Dr. Kashmir Singh thanked the RSUH co-organizers for providing venue and suggested to organise annually Hindi competition at the RSUH.

The competition lasted for two hours and after completing the tasks, the Moscow students talked to each other and had the opportunity to taste the Indian cuisine. RSUH students from the 2nd and 3rd years of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics took part in the competition.
