The Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) cordially invites you to the International Poetry Festival “Poetry, Philosophy, Heritage: A Festival Dedicated to the 149th Anniversary of Muhammad Iqbal”, the great poet and thinker of the 20th century.

The event is organized with the active support of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and will take place on November 5, 2026 from 02:30 pm to 06:00 pm at the RSUH.

Address: Russian State University for the Humanities, 15 Chayanova Street, Metro Novoslobodskaya (the main building with large white columns), Conference Hall No.625 (building 6, 6th floor, after exiting the elevator, turn left and follow the signs).

Format: Hybrid (In-person and Online)

Iqbal's work unites cultures. His reflections on spiritual quests and the destiny of individuals and society remain highly relevant today.

Iqbal’s poetry offers an opportunity to explore the intellectual and artistic traditions of South Asia and to see how the author addresses questions vital to diverse cultures: what it means to be a free and responsible individual, how to preserve one's dignity in an era of change, and what role spiritual values play in the life of society.

The festival program includes poetry reciting, an introduction to the poet’s life and legacy, as well as discussions dedicated to his ideas and their contemporary significance.

The goal of the festival is to spark significant interest among students, faculty, researchers, and anyone else wishing to immerse themselves in the profound world of Eastern poetry. Engaging with this heritage will help students discover a new poetic universe and see how literature serves as a space for a dialogue between cultures and ideas.
