Background

  • 1984 – graduated from Moscow State University (major: History of Southern and Western Slavs)
  • 1988 – Ph.D. (“Christian Democratic Movement in the Bourgeois Republic of Poland in 1918-1926”)
  • 1988-1992 - worked at the Institute for the US and Canadian Studies.
  • 1992-1993 - Senior Research Fellow at the Grigory Yavlinsky Center for Economic and Political Research (EPIcenter).
  • 1993-1996 - worked at Oneximbank as Deputy Chairman of the board, headed Information Support Department.
  • 1996-1997 - assistant to the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
  • 1998-2003 – Editor-in-Chief of the Izvestia newspaper.
  • 2005 - 2017 - Vice President and Chairman of the Board of VTB 24 Bank.
  • Since 2006 - lecturer at the Faculty of Media Communications and the Department of Sociology of the Higher School of Economics.
  • Since 2018 - lecturer at the Faculty of International Relations and Foreign Regional Studies of RSUH.
  • Since 2021 - lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism of RSUH.
