In the system of legal education, disciplines of the criminal legal profile create a deep professional understanding of the content of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen and the need to protect them. The priority task of these disciplines is to foster in students a respectful attitude to the law as a means of protecting citizens, their rights, freedoms and legitimate interests, as well as the interests of society and the state against criminal infringements. This legal understanding is in line with the ideas of a democratic legal state, since the upbringing of the legal consciousness of a law-abiding citizen is based not so much on the revealing of the coercive potential of criminal law, but on its characterization as one of the most important standards of civilized relations between people. Deep and solid knowledge of criminal law disciplines contributes to the formation of a professional lawyer, assist the professional implementation of their functional duties by law enforcement officials and various legal institutions, strict adherence to the rule of law in protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of man and citizen, the correct qualification of socially dangerous acts, and the adoption of independent decisions on complex legal issues.
