The relevance of the program rests on the wide distribution in the field of activity of modern organizations, institutions, enterprises and individuals of the creation of various types of audiovisual documents and systems of scientific and technical documentation. Traditional archival services and electronic information systems created for their acquisition and storage are called the new types of storages of objects of historical memory. In addition, the main types of modern electronic documents contain mainly visual and audio information, which needs professional study, distribution and use.

Types of occupation: creation, storage, description, distribution and study of audiovisual documents and scientific and technical documentation; management of specialized documentation in the media, archives and museums.

In order to master these types of activities, students study methodology and technology of film and photo documentation, acquire skills of documentation of scientific, technical and economic activities; study history of cinema, photography, broadcasting, television, scientific and technical institutions and scientific and technical knowledge; become familiar with source studies, archival studies and archeography of visual sources, audiovisual documents, electronic documents and scientific and technical documentation; study information management, festival and exhibition activities, organizational design in the field of archival and museum affairs; legal regulation in the field of audiovisual and electronic archives.

Areas of occupation: museums, archives, libraries, media enterprises, research institutes.
