Archives management abroad (History, culture and archives of France)

The relevance and uniqueness of the program is determined by the fact that it is international in nature and is offered jointly with the National School of Charters (Paris, Sorbonne).

The graduates acquire thorough knowledge of Russian and French archival affairs, as well as in the process of documenting all areas of society and public administration. A number of disciplines are read by visiting French professors.

Types of occupation: documentation management and archiving; streamlining document management, document processing technology for the purpose of their preservation and transfer to storage; organization of storage, accounting, acquisition, assessment of value and use of documents of the Archival Fund of the Russian Federation and documents of French archives; academic and publishing activities related to the use of documents of the Archival Fund of the Russian Federation and the French archives; participation in the implementation of electronic document management system.

Key disciplines of the program: History of Russia, History of France, Foreign language (French), Archival studies, Information technology in archiving, Archeography, Culture of France, History of archives of Russia, Organization of the archival service of France, Archival Rossica in France, Documents on the history of France in archives of Russia.

Areas of employment: state, municipal, departmental and private archives, manuscript departments of museums and libraries, cultural institutions, research institutes and expert analytical centers, the media, state bodies and local self-government, tourism-related campaigns, Russian-French firms and organizations.

International M.A. studies comprise the following tracks: “History and new technologies (Russia-France)”, implemented jointly with the National School of Charters (this is a double-diploma program, RSUH and the National School of Charters). This education provides graduates with the competencies that will make them competitive in the international labor market, and opens access to the professional community of European academics.
