Logistics in international trade activities

The purpose of a training course – to create the practice-focused idea of modern logistics and foreign economic activity at listeners. The course focuses on the theoretical foundations of logistics and supply chain management. 

The area of studying involves basic concepts, systems and technologies of logistics and supply chain management, methods of functional areas of logistics, inter-functional and inter-organizational logistics coordination, optimization of information systems and technologies in logistics. As a result of studying the course the following skills and abilities are acquired: formulating and solving the problems of resource optimization in logistics systems and supply chains at the macro and micro levels; choosing the organizational structure of logistics management at the firm level; cross-functional solutions; inter-organizational logistics coordination, logistics modeling of business processes; monitoring the performance and efficiency of logistics, logistics operations management in the supply chain and the structural divisions of the company.

At the end of the course students are able to:

• know the role, place and importance of transport in foreign trade, the need for transport support for foreign economic activity;
• master the modern basic and transport conditions of the foreign trade con-tract;
• justify the selection of basic conditions for the delivery of goods under INCOTERMS;
• be able to draw up transport conditions of contracts for the international sale of goods in the logistics systems of the company;
• learn to develop rational schemes for the transport of foreign goods;
• master the principles of national and international transport systems and international transport corridors.
