On November 29, within the framework of the III Congress of Young Scholars, a presentation of the book “Science of a Big Country: Soviet Management Experience” took place at RSUH
The newly published collective monograph “Science of a Big Country: Soviet Management Experience” was presented at the event. The book is the first to comprehensively explore the experience of implementing, managing and supporting science in the USSR. Based on a wide range of unpublished sources, the authors examined a cross-section of Soviet scientific and technological policy throughout the existence of the USSR, and characterized the measures of Soviet state policy on the management of research and development.
The authors of the book are leading experts in the history and sociology of science from RSUH, Higher School of Economics, Skoltech, Tomsk State University, and Peter the Great Petersburg Polytechnic University.
The book was prepared as part of the initiative “Working with Experience” of the Decade of Science and Technology at the Center for the History of Russian Science and Scientific and Technological Development, created at RSUH on behalf of the President of Russia.
