In Vladimir, the School of Young Futurologists has concluded. It brought together more than 60 young scholars and experts from Russia, BRICS countries, and CIS states to develop a shared vision of the future.
The School is a project of the RSUH Knowledge Diplomacy Center, which provides a platform for dialogue and cooperation among young scholars and experts from Russia, BRICS, and the CIS. The headliner of the program is RSUH Rector Loginov.
Welcoming the participants, the Rector noted that in today’s world there was a strong demand for futurological research. Olga Pavlenko, RSUH Vice-Rector for Research and Project Work, emphasized in her speech that futurology helped us study and understand a rapidly changing world. On the first day of the School, a futurological session and workshops were held. Participants discussed the results of a major study by the RSUH Knowledge Diplomacy Center titled The Image of Russia and BRICS in the Perception of Youth in BRICS Countries, and examined how the concept of a “lesson of history” was interpreted across different cultural traditions. The discussion also highlighted key challenges preventing the full realization of the BRICS community’s cultural and intellectual potential. On the second day, participants took part in futurological sessions and workshops dedicated to the philosophy and economics of the future.
Valery Fadeev, head of the RSUH Institute of Heritage and Contemporary Society and advisor to the President of Russia, took part in the workshop. In his speech, he noted a paradox of the modern era: despite rapid technological progress and widespread use of AI, relatively few fundamental scientific discoveries had been made in the 21st century. On the third day, expert discussions and practical workshops were held, focusing on the humanitarian dimension of space, international relations, diplomacy, and future social environments. The conclusion of the School was the signing of the International Youth Charter of BRICS Futurologists, which sets out the principles guiding the School’s work for the next five years.
The School took place from November 30 to December 5. It was organized by the RSUH Knowledge Diplomacy Center with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
