On June 29, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), at which Rector Andrey Loginov presented an extensive report on the university's performance over the 2024–2026 period. The discussion centered on qualitative growth of educational programs, digital transformation, and strengthening RSUH's status as a leading expert center in the country.
Opening the meeting, Andrey Loginov emphasized that over the reporting period the university has transitioned to a sustainable development model based on the continuity of educational levels. Today, RSUH offers 314 educational programs, responding sensitively to labor market demands and state objectives.
Special attention in the report was devoted to the growing accessibility of education. Over the past two years, the number of state-funded places at the university has increased by nearly 80%. According to the rector, this is a direct recognition of the quality of education at the federal level and the result of systematic work by the entire university team.
"The university should strive to become not only a center of academic excellence, but also an active agent of socialization and character formation. Our strategy is a living construct, aimed both at RSUH's external positioning within Russia's research and educational landscape, and at internal improvement. The interconnection of innovative approaches to learning and reliance on our traditional values creates a synergistic effect that will secure the university's leadership position in the long term," noted Andrey Loginov.
An important vector of development has been research activity. The university has officially formalized the status of its unique scientific and pedagogical schools, approving a registry of 25 leading research teams. This has made it possible to create a transparent system for supporting research. RSUH has also become one of the first humanities universities to implement regulations on the use of artificial intelligence technologies. The document established ethical boundaries for the use of neural networks, reinforcing high standards of academic integrity.
Expanding on the topic of infrastructural changes, Andrey Loginov noted the extensive work underway to upgrade the university's material and technical base. By September 1, 2026, 17 new classrooms will be opened in the main building, and the total area of renovated premises over the year will exceed 9,000 square meters. This will not only reduce the shortage of space but also create a modern digital environment for implementing blended learning programs.
A significant part of the discussion was devoted to personnel potential and teamwork. Members of the Academic Council noted that over the past two years, a unique managerial environment has developed at the university, capable of solving federal-level tasks in the shortest possible time.
During the meeting, an important personnel decision was announced. First Vice-Rector of RSUH Dmitry Bobrov requested to be relieved of his administrative position in order to focus on research work. Dmitry Viktorovich will continue his activities at the university as Director of the Institute of Socio-Economic Sciences.
Concluding the meeting, participants discussed upcoming tasks, among which are the scaling up of interdisciplinary programs at the intersection of the humanities and high technologies, as well as the development of a resource center for volunteering and youth research associations. RSUH continues its transformation into a technologically advanced and socially responsible university, while remaining true to its fundamental academic traditions.
