Thematic meeting “From the Flames of Afghanistan” held at RSUH

On February 13, at RSUH, on the eve of the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-internationalists, a meeting was held with Professor of the Academy of Aviation and Aeronautics Sciences, Vice-President of the Foundation for the Development of Modern Diplomacy, Chief of Staff of the Yunarmiya for the Southern District, Major General Yevgeny Zavadenko.

The event was opened by Irakli Bolkvadze, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Social Work of RSUH. He presented combat veteran Evgeniy Zavadenko with a letter of thanks “For participation in projects of RSUH aimed at the patriotic education of youth.”

The major general spoke about his pre-war service, his studies, and the specifics of conducting combat operations in mountainous areas.

He also spoke about his work in the Main Personnel Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and about his participation as the head of the delegation in five UN missions in Angola, Syria, Mozambique,

Nicaragua, Yugoslavia. With the aim of patriotic education of young people, the topic of fulfilling civic duty was touched upon at the meeting. The meeting participants agreed that following duty today meant taking part in elections
