The project “Mission DOBRO” launched

From November 5 to November 15, 2023, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian House in India, jointly with a group of students and teachers of RSUH, are organizing a project called “Mission DOBRO”

The project will be implemented in New Delhi (India) on the basis of the Russian House. It targets the children's family shelter located in the village of Smiri, where 30 children from three to thirteen years old are boarded.

The participants of the project are Dr. Mishina, Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of Education, Dr. Efremova, Assistant Professor of the Department of Clinical Psychology, as well as graduate and undergraduate students. The project is headed by Dr. Kriger, Chair of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of Education.

The work with children will be based on four independent areas:

  1. Introduction to the geography, culture and science of Russia, as well as traditional Russian culture: fairy tales, music, musical instruments, costumes, fine arts.
  2. Development of cognitive and creative abilities.
  3. Promoting the emotional and volitional development.
  4. Formation of coping strategies in a stressful situation.

On the first day the children and their adoptive parents got acquainted with Russia, Moscow, RSUH, its teachers and students. The children learned about the geography, culture, and traditions of Russia, heard and performed Russian folk tales, played games, took part in round dances, and tasted Tula honey-cakes.

On the last day, a final meeting will be organized in the format of a gala concert.
