Russia as the Architect of a New Model of Civilization: RSUH at the Symposium “Creating the Future”

The era of Western dominance is coming to an end, and Russia must offer the world a new civilizational model. This conclusion was reached by the leading participants of the open session of the 2nd International Symposium “Creating the Future”, which is being held in Moscow with the participation of RSUH.

At the National Center “Russia,” within the framework of the 2nd International Symposium “Creating the Future,” an open session titled “The Vanguard Nation: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” took place. It was devoted to finding answers to the key challenges facing Russian society in the era of global transformations.

The session was moderated by Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Valery Fadeev. The event was attended by TV journalist and member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Alexander Malkevich, and Russian film composer Yuri Poteenko.

As part of the session, a pre-premiere screening of Valery Fadeev’s program “The Land of the Future” was held. The premiere will be broadcast in November 2025 on the television channel “Russia 24” and the online platform “Smotrim.”

The program “The Land of the Future” was devoted to the concept of the “vanguard nation” — a leading nation that does not merely adapt to changes but actively shapes new rules and civilizational models. Relying on a large-scale historical analysis, Valery Fadeev concluded that Russia has fulfilled precisely this mission for centuries.

Valery Fedeev also presented a specially prepared analytical report recalling the key “vanguard” achievements of the Russian people, including:

  • the exploration of Siberia and the Far East;
  • a defining role in European and world politics;
  • the Soviet project and the conquest of space.

“We often fail to value ourselves and forget who we are. In fact, it is our duty; who else will set new directions for the development of the world? And we have been doing this successfully for several hundred years. The current geopolitical confrontation is a direct consequence of the fact that the West fears not Russia’s military power, but precisely this ‘real historical alternative’ that it represents. Sanctions and hybrid warfare are tools for eliminating a civilizational competitor,” emphasized Valery Fadeev.“

The participants of the Symposium agreed that Russia today stands on the threshold of a historical choice. In order to remain a “vanguard nation,” it must abandon its inferiority complex, cease to be the cultural and ideological periphery of the West, and confidently offer the world its own civilizational alternative — one based on its unique historical experience.
