Recognition at a High Level: The Rector of RSUH Received an Award from Transnistria

Rector of RSUH Andrei Loginov was awarded the anniversary medal “Thirty-five Years of Transnistria” for his active participation in the formation and strengthening of the republic.

A working meeting was held at RSUH with a delegation from the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. From the Russian side, participants included: Rector Andrei Loginov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Pavel Shkarenkov, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Vera Zabotkina, and Director of the Department of International Cooperation Olga Trofimova. Transnistria was represented by Associate Professor of Shevchenko Transnistria State University Elena Gorodetskaya. The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation in the fields of science and higher education. In particular, a possibility was considered of organizing methodological support for teachers from Transnistria, including master classes, seminars, and advanced training courses. Among the priority tasks in joint work, the Rector also highlighted the preservation of the archival heritage of Transnistria. According to the Rector, the region’s historical documents are currently spread across different repositories; some are located in Chisinau, others in Odessa, and the earliest materials have been preserved in Kherson.

“Such fragmentation of the archival collection creates serious obstacles to restoring historical memory and conducting genealogical research. This issue has general humanitarian significance and can be solved only through joint efforts,” summarized Andrei Loginov.

RSUH and Shevchenko Transnistria State University have been successfully cooperating for ten years within the framework of the Russian-Transnistria Consortium of Higher Education Institutions. In 2023, the universities signed an agreement aimed at uniting the informational resources of both sides for the development of science and education, as well as strengthening scientific and cultural ties between higher education institutions.
