Expert-analytical round table of RSUH and Russian Academy of Sciences “Prospects for development and resources for cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats in new geopolitical conditions”

On November 2-3, 2023, an expert-analytical round table of RSUH and the Russian Academy of Sciences “Prospects for development and resources for cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats in new geopolitical conditions” was held in Yerevan at the Russian-Armenian (Slavic) University. The round table was organized at the joint center for Eurasian studies of the RSUH-RAU on behalf of and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation

The RSUH delegation was headed by Dr. Pivovar, President of RSUH, Head of the History Section of the Department of Historical and Philological Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Academic Council on Complex Issues of History and Culture of Modern Eurasia, member of the RAS.

Over thirty teachers and researchers from RSUH, the Russian Academy of Sciences and other leading universities in Russia and Armenia took part in the event.

The holding of the Table became an important stage in the development of cooperation between RSUH and RAU, within the framework of which significant results were achieved in 2021-2022, including the opening of a joint center for Eurasian studies, a series of joint academic and expert events, and the organization of advanced training and educational modules for the teaching staff of RAU.

The moderators of the round table were Dr. Pivovar and Dr. Avetisyan, Vice-Rector for Science of RAU, Member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Russia.

Dr. Pivovar noted the fundamental importance of strengthening cooperation between RSUH and RAU in the context of transformation processes characteristic of the modern world order. According to Dr. Pivovar, the prospects for a successful Russian-Armenian cooperation are already being formed today largely thanks to the active work of interested participants, an example of which is the cooperation of RSUH and RAU.

Dr. Pivovar read a greeting from Dr. Panchenko, Vice-President of the RAS, Vice-President of the Kurchatov Institute, which emphasized that joint initiatives and projects, such as the Center for Eurasian Studies of RSUH-RAU, created the foundation for fruitful research cooperation that helps solve the tasks of academic and technological development of our states.

Dr. Avetisyan noted that the most important tasks of the academic community are to find new mechanisms of interaction in order to preserve the common historical and cultural space, as well as to promote the formation of a fruitful agenda for the Russian-Armenian cooperation.

Well-known Russian and Armenian experts (historians, orientalists, economists, political scientists, journalists, psychologists, and lawyers) spoke at the Table. They discussed current issues of history and the prospects of Eurasian integration processes in the context of modern international relations.

Dr. Levchenkov noted the importance of developing the consulting direction in the work of the joint center for Eurasian studies, Dr. Katagoshchina spoke on the prospects for harnessing the potential of the Armenian diaspora in Russia.

On November 3, a master class was held by Dr. Pivovar, which presented the international academic and expert platform “Gromyko International Expert Forum".
