Professor of RSUH, Director of the Institute of Cross-Border Cooperation and Integration Viktor Sapryka, in an interview with Argumenty i Fakty-Belgorod, spoke about the mission of the Institute in new conditions.
During the interview, Dr. Sapryka noted that, despite the transformation of the border into a barrier, the experience of Belgorod Region remained relevant and allowed for forecasting further developments.
“The Institute of Cross-Border Cooperation and Integration has entered the international platform of the Eurasian Economic Union,” emphasized the expert.
Projects are carried out jointly with colleagues from Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, who are interested in the practices developed in Belgorod. Special attention is paid to seminars on information security. Such events are extremely relevant for allied countries that have not lived “under constant information pressure,” as has Belgorod Region.
Answering a question about the inevitability of rapprochement between Russia and Ukraine, the professor confirmed his position:
“Yes, neighbors can be different, but we will not stop being neighbors, we will not get away from our borders.”
The expert called the preservation of humanity the most important task today. The professor, who had personally taken part in the defense of Belgorod and helped the wounded, urged people to learn lessons from history.
“The most important thing for a person who sees blood, who sees disasters, who sees dead people — is that he does not wish the same for his opponents and enemies. This is the hardest thing — to preserve one’s humanity,” he noted.
In conclusion, Viktor Sapryka expressed confidence in the younger generation, which has received “special tempering” and clear spiritual guidelines.
“As long as our young people perceive family as a value, our country has a chance for development,” concluded the professor.
