On July 5, 2023, at the session of the Academic Council, the ceremony of awarding the degree of Dr. Honoris Causa to the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili took place
The event was opened by Rector Bezborodov, announcing that by the decision of the Academic Council of RSUH, Mr. Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili was awarded the degree of Dr. Honoris Causa of RSUH in recognition of his high merits in supporting and developing academic and cultural ties between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Andrei Fursenko, Aide to the President of Russia, said that thanks to the support of Dr. Esmaili, cultural ties between the Russian Federation and Iran were reaching a new level, and specialists from RSUH and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences occupied a special place in building these relationships.
Dr. Ksenia Trinchenko, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili for his huge contribution to the development of cooperation and strengthening of friendship between the two countries, for supporting projects that contribute to the preservation of cultural and historical heritage and traditions.
Mr. Kazem Jalali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, Mr. Masoud Ahmadvand, Head of the Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, Dr. Alikberov, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Dr. Anzhelika Trapeznikova, Head of the Political Science Center "North-South", also expressed their congratulations.
Mr. Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili thanked those present for the high recognition of his merits in the development of bilateral relations between Iran and Russia and the award of the honorary title.
