RSUH, jointly with the University of Mumbai, held an international seminar on the topic “Social and Cultural Issues in Post-Soviet Russia” on October 31 in the state of Maharashtra, India.
The welcoming speech was delivered by Professor Sanjay Deshpande, Director of the Center for Central Eurasian Studies and Chair of the Russian Language Department. He thanked RSUH for the organization of the joint project. He said that his students in Mumbai were interested in the period of development of new Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In light of this, the social and cultural issues in post-Soviet Russia became an important topic of discussion.
