Mr. Ivan Kulakov (M.A. student, Department of Archival Affairs) has won a grant from ROSMOLODEZH, the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs

The grant is earmarked for the development of a historical discussion youth club “History without Fiction”, whose aim is to preserve the WWII legacy and to stand against misinformation and myths about the period.

The sessions and discussions will be based upon real archival documents on the Siege of Leningrad, activity in the rear, genocide on occupied territories, and others.

The monies will be directed towards organizing and holding sessions of the Club in five RF subjects and creating available video content about each meeting.

Mr. Kulakov said that he had had a similar experience when organizing a discussion club on the subject of the Revolution and Civil War in Russia (also supported by a grant from ROSMOLODEZH). Over 500 young scholars participated in that discussion club, and every Internet release was watched by tens of thousands of people. Mr. Kulakov is positive that the previous experience and the dedicated team of archive specialists, historians and political science experts will help carry out the project with maximum efficiency and usefulness.
