His Excellency D. Bala Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador of India to the RF, visited RSUH
The visit took place 12 October 2018 with Vice-Rector Zabotkina, Vice-Rector Pavlenko and other RSUH officials participating in the meeting.
The topics discussed were academic mobility and a possible cooperation project between RSUH and the Institute of Oriental Studies and Institute of Philosophy of the RAS to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Ambassador proposed to set up, on the premises of RSUH, an Indian Center that would, jointly with the Nehru Center, promote Indian and Russian languages and culture. He also said he would provide all the assistance he could to all the proposed programs.
Mr. Ambassador also delivered a lecture on the international position of India in the second half of the 20th century up to the present, mentioning, among other things, the official visit made by President Putin 3-4 October 2018.
