Conference “Russian language, literature and history in cross-cultural environment”
The event took place on November 21-22 in Alber-Ludwigs Freiburg University (Freiburg, Germany), organized by RSUH and founded via a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF.
Dr. Shunikov, Head of the Institute of Extended Education, gave a lecture on tendencies in modern Russian literature, its uniqueness, its stylistic tendencies and the ways it is taught.
Dr. Domansky, of the Department of Theoretical and Historical Poetics of RSUH, spoke on the subject of the famous “Cherry Orchard”, questioning its status as a comedy.
Dr. Pipersky, of the Socio-Linguistic Laboratory of RSUH, spoke about a pattern of variation of Russian stress. He also described the methods to study these phenomena through linguistic corpora.
Dr. Evgrafova, of the Department of Russian Language of RSUH, spoke on the difficulties arising from reading modern Russian prose.
Dr. Butorina, of the Department of Russian Language of RSUH, spoke on the subject of business communications and their codification in writing.
Dr. Kreidlin, of the Department of Russian Language of RSUH, spoke on the subject of body language in general and local differences having arisen in the Russian diasporas of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the US and Finland.
