We honor those who, during the Great Patriotic War, went to defend their homeland and returned with victory.

Lyudmila Akhapkina (Petrova) (born in 1923) was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. She went to the front as a volunteer. From 1942 to 1944 she served as a signalman in the 14th Searchlight Regiment of the 2nd Searchlight Division, stationed in the Novopetrovsky district of the Moscow region.

In 1949 she graduated from the Moscow State Institute of History and Archives. She worked in the Central Party Archive from 1949 to 1981. She participated in the description of a number of the most important collections of the archive and responded to requests from museums and other applicant organizations. She wrote a number of biographical articles for the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, the Soviet Historical Encyclopedia and other publications. Here are the works of Lyudmila Akhapkina.
