A meeting was held between First Vice-Rector of RSUH Olga Pavlenko and the general director of the Arktikugol Trust Ildar Neverov

The parties discussed areas of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the signed Agreement, including in the fields of educational and research

The meeting was also attended by Pavel Anisimov, senior lecturer at the Department of Foreign Area Studies and Foreign Policy of RSUH, and Dmitry Negrutsa, Advisor to the General Director of the Arktikugol Trust.

In 2024, at RSUH, at the Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Foreign Area Studies, a program on Arctic studies will be opened and Arktikugol Trust will become a partner and a potential employer.

The program will include sections dedicated to the Northern European countries and the role of the Arctic in international relations. Students will study two foreign languages (Norwegian and English).

In addition, the parties discussed the participation of RSUH in the international center, which will be open in the village of Piramida on Spitsbergen.

The main task of the Center will be to create opportunities for cooperation between the BRICS countries, the SCO and other interested friendly countries in the field of comprehensive study of the Earth's geospheres in the Arctic region and the training of highly qualified academic personnel using the Russian territory in the Spitsbergen archipelago as a high-tech research site.
