A meeting held at RSUH with the soldiers of the assault unit of the Russian Army and the director of the “Foundation Time Has Chosen Us”

For the purpose of spiritual, moral and patriotic education of young people, on March 12, RSUH students met with the soldiers of the assault unit of the Russian Army and Director of the Foundation for Assistance to Veterans, Combatants and Members of Their Families “Time Has Chosen Us” Artur Zakirov, as well as with the film director Natalia Rudanovskaya.

The event was attended by Rector Bezborodov, Director of the Institute of Economics, Management and Law Nadezhda Arkhipova, Dean of the Faculty of Law Stanislav Timofeev and Head of the Legal Clinic of RSUH Yulia Dubovaya.

Rector Bezborodov opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, in which he noted that RSUH provided regular support to participants in the Special Military Operation, organized and conducted campaigns to help the front.

Mr. Artur Zakirov spoke about how in 2015 he had begun helping civilians in Donbass and the front, and how the Foundation had been created.

Konstantin, a lieutenant on active duty, commander of a rifle company of a motorized rifle battalion of a motorized rifle brigade, spoke about his participation in the defense of Donbass. Konstantin’s brigade is carrying out missions in the Gorlovka direction, in the territories bordering Avdeevka and Bakhmut. Konstantin first volunteered to defend his native land in 2014 as part of the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic.

Sergeant Alexey was mobilized in 2022 from Ugra and is serving in Konstantin’s company. Alexey went on his first assault as part of two groups, one of which he led. He was the only survivor of the mission, but did not leave the position without the order of the commander, when only 30 meters separated him from the enemy. Alexey was awarded the St. George Cross, IV degree.

Film director Natalya Rudanovskaya shared her impressions of the war and talked about her way of helping Donbass and its inhabitants. Natalya spoke about the pain and fear that the residents of Donbass had experienced for eight long years preceding the Special Military Operation. Natalya showed excerpts from her documentary about the life of civilians in Gorlovka, where people are being bombed and killed every day and where families with children and old people are forced to hide in cold and damp basements.
