The combination of basic training in the humanities with the acquisition of professional knowledge and skills in the field of sociology is a distinctive feature of sociological education at the RSUH. The faculty has a strong faculty and its own scientific school, which was established by the scientific director of the RSUH Faculty of Sociology, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jean Toshchenko. The independent scientific school established at the faculty focuses on the study of the problems of theory and methodology of sociology, social consciousness, and spiritual life. The continuity of generations is something we are proud of, one third of the teaching staff are our graduates.
According to a survey by the RAEX rating agency, in 2025, the Faculty of Sociology of the Russian State University entered the TOP 20 best faculties in Russia specializing in Sociology. The 19th place in the all-Russian ranking is the result of the purposeful work of the teaching staff, students, and graduates. It is important that this rating evaluate not only the educational process, but also scientific work, employment and the relevance of sociologists of the Russian State University in the labor market.
