The Faculty of Economics was established in 1992 and is a part of the Institute of Socio-Economic Sciences of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
Our mission is to create a new generation of leading economists who share the principles of a sovereign economy, as well as possess innovative thinking, knowledge and skills necessary to solve modern economic problems and adapt to a dynamically changing world.
The unique combination of fundamental economic training with an in-depth analysis of socio-cultural and historical factors ensures the high competitiveness of our graduates in the labor market. They successfully realize their potential in organizations of various sectors of the economy, including manufacturing and trading enterprises, financial institutions, government agencies and international companies.
Currently, the faculty provides training for specialists, bachelors, masters, and highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff in the following areas: "Economic Security", "Customs", "Economics", "Finance and Credit".

Department of Finance and Credit was established in 1998, a part of the Faculty of Economics of the Institute of Socio-Economic Sciences. Currently, the department carries out educational, methodological and research work in the areas of training and academic disciplines defined by the federal state educational standard. The department provides training in basic educational programs:
Bachelor's degree (course of study "Economics", profile "Finance, Banks, Investments", "Economics and Data Analysis" with additional qualification "Information Technology Specialist in Economics");
Specialization (course of study "Economic security" program "Economic security of an economic entity")
Master's degree (course of study "Finance and Credit", Master's program "Applied Finance in Digital Economy").
The Department of National and World Economics
Established in 2024 is a part of the Faculty of Economics of the Institute of Socio-Economic Sciences. The department is a graduate department and in 2025 it is recruiting students for the main educational programs.
Bachelor's degree, specialty 38.03.01 "Economics": profile "Economics of information business systems (with additional qualifications in the field of business informatics)".
Specialization "Customs business": specialty "Customs support of foreign economic activity"

Established in 2024 and is a part of the Faculty of Economics of the Institute of Socio-Economic Sciences. The department is a graduate one and in 2025, enrollment for admission to the master's degree is underway for program "Economics of knowledge-intensive industries".
