RSUH Hindi group students became the winner of 3rd place in the All-Russia creative video competition celebrating 150 years of Vande Mataram.
Elena Shakh, Alina Zvyaginsteva, Margarita Ermalyuk and Anastasiia Shitikova have prepared a video in Hindi explaining the significance of the Indian national song "Vande Mataram" in India's freedom struggle against British rule.
The Competition was held among various Russian universities’ students providing an opportunity to demonstrate their linguistics skills and understanding of the rich Indian cultural heritage.
The event was attended by distinguished guests:
Dr. Anand Kamavisdar, Counselor at the Embassy of India in Moscow shared the history of the International Hindi Day and discussed in detail the functions of the World Hindi Secretariat, based in Mauritius.
Dr. Georgy Grachev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU),
Dr. Irina Shokina, Director of the MSLU International Cooperation Department
and Ms. Madhurkankana Roy, Director of the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center (JNCC) of the Indian Embassy in Moscow also delivered welcoming speeches.
Dr. Liudmila Khokhlova, an associate professor at the Institute of Asian and African Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University and a laureate of the Padma Shri, fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, shared her experience teaching Hindi for half a century and inspired students with her stories from her life as an Indologist.
Dr. Maksim Demchenko, an associate professor of MSLU, conducted an interactive quiz, testing students' knowledge of Indian languages and cultures for the guests of the event.
