The international online round table "Professional Rights and Economic Freedoms in the Constitutional Law of the BRICS Countries" was held at the Russian State University for the Humanities.

The round table was dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Russian Constitution on December 12, 1993.

The participants form Brazil, India, Cambodia and Nigeria discussed issues of law and constitutionalism.

A welcoming speech was delivered by Professor, Dr. Sergey Shakhray, Director of the Institute of Jurisprudence of the RSUH and one of the authors of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

In his video message, he noted

"The comparative studies of the constitutions of India, Brazil, South Africa, China, the countries that cooperate with Russia within the framework of BRICS, but also countries such as Nigeria and Cambodia, are extremely valuable. In this way, we can accelerate comparative legal research and take advantage of our valuable experience. The constitutions of the countries that we will discuss are valuable because they attempt to preserve national and traditional values and guarantees of the inviolable sovereignty of their countries".
