Hindi group students and teachers participated in the round table "Religious and political situation in India in 2014-2015". The event was organized by the International Center for South Asian Studies, the Confucius Institute and the Department of International Relations and Overseas Studies of the Institute for History and Archives.
Keynote speakers were: Professor Rostislav Rybakov told students about stages of reformation of Hinduism, about Mahatma Gandhi – preeminent leader of Indian independence movement in British-ruled India, Independent India's first years, Indian Prime Ministers - Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress. Professor Tatyana Shaumyan told students about Indian democracy, Russian-Indian relations during the whole period of independent India.
Prof. Muzaffar Assadi from Mysore University, prof. Han Mihua, Director of the Institute of Confucius, prof. Sergey Serebryaniy, prof. Taras Ivchenko also participated in the discussion. There was also a tea ceremony prepared by the staff of the Confucius Institute.
