The program focuses on training highly qualified specialists with a wide range of fundamental and applied knowledge about man and society in its cultural diversity; on the processes of intercultural communication in the context of globalization of the modern world; on the development of world cultures; on the biological nature of man in different cultures; on contemporary ethnic and ethno-confessional migration processes; on the state policy of the Russian Federation in the field of interethnic relations, on methods and means of overcoming ethnic conflicts, nationalism, xenophobia and extremism; on methods of enforcing and expanding the rights of ethnic and religious minorities and solving other problems directly related to the implementation of the state national policy of the Russian Federation.

The main feature of the program is the combination of socio-anthropological disciplines with comprehensive training, which involves mastering the biological knowledge about a human. This program also has a sizable language element, paying special attention to translation of professional texts from foreign languages into Russian and vice versa.
