Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova held a meeting of the interdepartmental working group to develop additional mechanisms for responding to the situation developing in the labor market.
"As part of admissions-2024, the total number of quota spots in universities was about 145.4 thousand, which is 3.8 thousand more than the year before. About 39 thousand people have already been enrolled under the quota for the Bachelor's and Specialist's programs. Admission to other tracks is still ongoing," noted Tatyana Golikova.
According to the results of the admissions for Bachelor's and Specialist's degree programs, most applicants were enrolled in the fields of health care and medical sciences (72.7% of the quota), agriculture and agricultural sciences (46.6% of the quota). The most popular areas of study were general medicine, pediatrics, pedagogy, dentistry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, electric power engineering and electrical engineering, computer science, information systems and technologies, design of aircraft and rocket engines. The universities that enrolled the largest number of quota applicants were Sechenov Moscow State Medical University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Pirogov Medical University, Pavlov State Medical University, Russian Technological University, Rostov, Bashkir, Ural, Samara, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Kemerovo, Kuban state medical universities. The most sought-after school was the Higher School of Economics (7 people per spot), Novosibirsk State Technical University (6), Pirogov Medical University, Tyumen and Kazan State Medical Universities, Kazan Federal University (5).
Among the regions, the top ten quota-providing universities included Moscow (6,430 people), St. Petersburg (3,128 people), Rostov Region (1,319 people), the Republic of Bashkortostan (1,299 people), Sverdlovsk Region (1,262 people), the Republic of Tatarstan(1,094 people), Novosibirsk Region (1,021 people), Krasnodar Region (1,017 people), Krasnoyarsk Region (849 people), Voronezh Region (846 people).
