On October 14, a scholarship award ceremony was held in the Professorskaya Room of RSUH as part of the round table "The Journalist of the New Times: Challenges, Skills, Competencies".
The scholarship recipients were students of journalism from five Russian universities: Institute of Mass Media and Advertising of RSUH, MSU, Institute of Cinema and Television, MGIMO and St. Petersburg State University. For six months, the scholarship holders will be receiving payments in the amount of 15 thousand rubles. Five laureates were also selected from among the students and invited to intern at federal TV channels.
Leading experts in the field of journalism joined the discussion “The Journalist of the New Times: Challenges, Skills, Competencies”, including Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at RSUH Natalia Makarova, TV journalist Leonid Mlechin, TV presenter and Director of the Institute of Mass Media and Advertising at RSUH Vladislav Flyarkovsky, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at MSU Elena Vartanova, Associate Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at RSUH Yana Kanevskaya and others.
Dr. Vartanova emphasized the importance of a comprehensive social and humanitarian education for journalists:
The scholarship program, founded by the Anatoly Lysenko Foundation for the Support of Cultural and Educational Projects, has been implemented in Russia since 2022. It is aimed at helping students of creative specialties to master professional skills and carry out socially significant projects and initiatives.
