On November 22, a meeting was held between Acting Rector Andrei Loginov and representatives of the Psychological Service of RSUH, dedicated to Psychologist's Day.
The participants discussed providing qualified psychological services, developing research centers for the study of psychology, and talked about a draft law on psychological assistance in the Russian Federation and other topics.
Dr. Loginov emphasized that the psychological service faced major challenges in providing quality assistance to people who found themselves vulnerable. The abundance of pseudo-psychologists and pseudo-coaches, as well as the circulation of counterfeit pharmaceuticals, causes irreparable harm to our society:
"This problem undoubtedly requires a solution in our society. I believe that we, of course, should set very high standards using the examples of the work of our psychological service. We received support when we considered the issues of using our capabilities to help people, our compatriots, who, perhaps, need this kind of support more than others. I mean the residents of our new territories, the participants of the SMO, their relatives and friends,” said Andrei Loginov.
The Acting Rector paid special attention to the need to develop academic and psychological centers and laboratories within the framework of the Vygotsky Institute of Psychology:
“Today, serious hopes are placed on RSUH so that our University become an academic, methodological and educational center for all socio-humanitarian education. This task has already been set,” noted Andrei Loginov.
He also congratulated the psychological community on their professional holiday and noted the importance of the work of the RSUH Psychological Service. The Service was created in 2018 by order of Rector Bezborodov and provides psychological assistance in crisis situations to students, faculty and staff of RSUH, helps with personal and professional self-determination, as well as with maintaining and tapping into internal resources.
