RSUH and GASU Will Develop Economically Beneficial Projects and Implement Them

RSUH has signed an agreement on cooperation with the Gorno-Altaisk State University.

The official signing ceremony took place at the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow, with the participation of RSUH Rector Andrei Loginov and Acting Rector of GASU Evgeny Pavlov. As part of the agreement, the universities plan to:

  • Implement joint network-based educational programs;
  • Conduct research and conferences;
  • Establish joint laboratories;
  • Collaborate in regional and Oriental studies.

Rector Loginov emphasized that RSUH had always paid special attention to the study of the East. One of the key focus areas of the academic community is Turkology and Altaic studies.

Our universities and academic centers have accumulated a vast body of knowledge about the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation. However, many monuments remain at their original sites in the hard-to-reach corners of Siberia, and a number of episodes in the history of Turkic and Mongol nomads of Eurasia remain the subject of scholarly inquiry. By concluding an agreement with GASU, we will focus our efforts on Oriental and regional studies, with an emphasis on the Altai region, archival research, and the study of written monuments,” said Andrei Viktorovich.

RSUH and GASU also plan to support students and scholars in developing economically useful projects and introducing them into business and industry.

Gorno-Altaisk State University is the leading educational and research center of the Altai Republic. It trains specialists in a wide range of fields — from economics and management to agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. GASU is also actively involved in the development of a system of specially protected natural areas in the Altai Republic, studies archaeological complexes in the mountainous Altai region, glacial melting, and other environmental challenges.
