The Zaryadye Concert Hall hosted the award ceremony of the 10th All-Russian Prize "For Loyalty to Science".
The Prize "For Loyalty to Science" is one of the key events of the Decade of Science and Technology. This year, about 2 thousand applications from 80 regions of Russia were received for participation. The three most popular nominations were: "Science for Children", "Author of Digital Content", "Recognition".
The first winner (nomination "Russian Science for the World") was given the award by the President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
"It is probably our country's duty to contribute to the development of world science. We have opened up many new areas where our scientists find new opportunities for interaction and cooperation. Our scientists continue to remain open to the whole world. There is a circulation that provides the necessary energy for the development of science. No science can develop under a glass dome. It must be open, especially such a great science of such a great country," said Mr. Peskov.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko presented the award to the winner in the nomination "Author of Digital Content".
“You are doing a great job, one of the most important, which President Vladimir Putin has instructed to carry out within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology: you are popularizing the lofty title of a scientist. We are seeing good results. This year, the number of applications for the award has increased by 1.5 times to almost 2 thousand. According to polls, more than half of Russians called the professions of scientist and engineer prestigious. I would like that every time we go up on the stage, we will note the increasing results,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The award “For Loyalty to Science” has been given out since 2015 for outstanding achievements in the field of scientific communication and popularization of science. It is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science.
