On October 7, Acting Rector of RSUH Andrei Loginov donated over 40 copies of the historical and documentary publication “Pages of Soviet and Russian History. 1917–2017” to the Academic Library of RSUH.
The book reflects the diversity of Russian history by highlighting the life paths and destinies of the politicians, military leaders, activists, cultural, artistic and academic figures that have been the most prominent in the development of our country. This project helps to obtain accessible, organized and reliable information about Russian history from 1917 to 2017.
During the handover ceremony, Acting Rector Loginov spoke of the high value of the texts from the point of view of documentary studies, emphasizing their uniqueness:
"This series takes the study and popularization of biographical studies to a new level. We know of a huge number of examples of biographical books, and they are always in demand. They help defend historical truth, that is, objective knowledge about the past, obtained in a scholarly manner. It is this kind of knowledge that is present in these books, and after reading them you will get a fair idea of the events of the past, supported by archival documents."
On September 12, the 3rd session of the Discussion Club "Pages of Soviet and Russian History. 1917 - 2017" was held in the Academic Council Hall of RSUH, with the participation of Larisa Pastukhova, President of Sistema Charitable Foundation. At the session, she presented the Acting Rector with a certificate for the set of the historical and documentary publication mentioned above, which was later donated by Acting Rector to the RSUH Library.
