Our plans and prospects: the next session of the Academic Council held at RSUH

The session took place on September 24, during which the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations was elected and initiatives to create educational units considered.

The session began with electing the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations. The post will be filled by Dr. Vasily Khristoforov. The proposal to approve the list of vacant positions was made by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Pavel Shkarenkov. At the initiative of the faculties and departments, a list of 17 vacancies was formed, recruitment for which will be carried out within 3 years. The initiative was approved unanimously.

The agenda also involved the creation of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology on the basis of the Center for Social Anthropology of RSUH. Professor Valery Tishkov spoke about the specificity of the work of the new division.

Acting Rector Andrei Loginov emphasized the importance of creating the Institute for RSUH: "I am very invested in this idea; our University will get to have a structure that will undoubtedly become one of the leading centers for training ethnologists, anthropologists, and ethnographers. It is important that after the creation of the Institute, we will be able to enrich the faculty listand make it possible to become familiar with ethnology and anthropology courses in other areas of study. I am absolutely certainthat courses on the fundamentals of ethnology and anthropology should be attended by future philosophers and cultural scientists, as well as those studying management."

In addition, the Vygotsky Institute of Psychology is planning to open Laboratory of Cultural-Historical Psychology. It is designed to preserve and develop the ideas of Vygotsky, as well as become a platform for uniting people who share Vygotsky's views on man. In addition, as part of the Laboratory's work, a detailed analysis of the Vygotsky’s legacy will be carried out. Olga Pavlenko made the final presentation of the academic and educational program "Futurological Research at RSUH: the Image of the Future of Russia in Historical Time and Space". The concept of the Program will include the creation of a reader with thoughts on how the public has seen the future of our state from the time of Metropolitan Hilarion to the 21st century.
