In Israel, the final stage of the Competition of Pedagogical Workers Teaching in Russian was held

The event took place on December 24.

The competition is held by RSUH jointly with the non-commercial organization “Russian Humanitarian Mission” with the support of the Ministry of Education of the RF.

A significant contribution was made by Dr. Alexander Kagan, Professor of the Institute of Psychology of RSUH. The final stage of the competition was held at the Open University of Israel (Tel Aviv).

Vice-Rector Pavlenko, in an interview with the Russian-language channel of Israel ערוץ תשע (Channel 9), spoke about this project as uniting the Russian-speaking diaspora of Israel and Russia, contributing to the promotion of the Russian language and culture abroad.

54 teachers from all over Israel participated in the competition. Schoolteachers and university professors from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Acre, Ashdod, Beer Yakov, Beer Sheva, Herzliya, Kfar Tavora, Kfar Hassidima, Maale Adumin, Naariya, Netanya, Ramat Gan, Petah Tikva, Haifa, Hof Ashkelon, Hof Akarmel, Eilat, Ein Shemer, etc., presented their methodological developments.

The final stage of the competition was opened by Maria Vinyar, State Inspector for the Russian language at the Methodological Department of the Ministry of Education of Israel, who put a lot of effort into organizing this joint event. She wished the participants of the competition a successful performance of their projects and noted the importance of the event itself.

Dr. Olga Pavlenko, who is also a member of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Preservation, Protection and Development of the Russian Language, spoke about the close ties that had been forged between RSUH and the educational organizations of Israel in the course of many years of cooperation.

Ms. Irina Vasilyeva, Deputy Director General of Russian Humanitarian Mission, pointed out the role of the Mission in strengthening cultural ties between Russia and Israel.

Dr. Trufanova, Director of the International Russian Language Center of RSUH, described the work submitted to the competition.

The participants in the final stage demonstrated high pedagogical skills when presenting lesson scenarios, which were evaluated by the expert committee.

The best lessons were:

- “Secrets and mysteries of the Moscow metro”

- "St. Petersburg for those who have not been there before"

- "Dialogue of cultures: Russian roots in the military history of Israel"

- “Music in our life”

- “The poem “I loved you” by Alexander Pushkin

- "I" and "the other". Based on the story “Bagulnik” by Yuri Yakovlev

- “Welcome to the museum”. Based on the story “The Price of Talent” by Tamara Kryukova”.

Lectures and master classes were delivered by Dr. Valentina Trufanova, who spoke about the relations between the traditional and the innovative approaches to teaching Russian as a foreign language. Dr. Vladimir Shunikov, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education of RSUH, talked about the audio aspect of language learning. Dr.Vladimir Tsarev, a lecturer at the International Russian Language Center of RSUH, introduced the concept of text bank.

During the discussion, it was noted that the methodological issues for teachers of the Russian language in Russia and Israel were very similar. It was pointed out that various forms of advanced training for teachers was paramount.

They winners were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts. The participants thanked the organizers of the contest, noting the need and relevance of such projects in Israel.
