Head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, spoke about the availability of higher education in an interview with Naila Asker-zade on the Russia 24 channel

Interview highlights:

• The availability of higher education in this admissions campaign was unprecedented as 592 thousand budget spots were allocated.

• The popularity of the super service "Enroll in a University Online" is growing. This year, over 44% of applicants have used it.

• The most popular tracks among Russian applicants this year were education, medicine and IT.

• The inclusion of regional universities in the projects "Advanced Engineering Schools", "Priority-2030" made these universities more popular among applicants. The salient example is the universities of the Far Eastern Federal District.

• International students are still interested in the opportunity to study at Russian universities. There is a great competition for the quota spots, while over 70% of international students were accepted on a tuition-paying basis, which clearly shows the demand for our education.

• Cooperation with foreign countries in the academic field is developing. As part of Russia's chairmanship of the BRICS interstate association, a meeting of the BRICS ministers of science, technology and innovation will be held on September 27.
