RSUH, a longtime partner of the Russian Geographical Society, has again become a platform for the Geographical Dictation, an international project that has been held annually since 2015 at the initiative of President Vladimir Putin.
Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, this year the Dictation was held mainly online, so anyone from anywhere in the world were able to take part. Over 140 people participated in the Dictation held at RSUH. The Dictation was interesting to all age categories, from schoolchildren to pensioners.
The online platform created by the Russian Geographical Society made it possible to attract the maximum number of participants in the entire history of the dictation.
The Russian Geographical Society strives to improve knowledge of the country's geography, which is an important part of the development of civic culture. The questions of the Dictation were diverse, so the participants had to recall not only the location of various geographical objects, but also their characteristics in the historical and cultural perspective. Some of the questions reflected the history of the Russian Geographical Society, its discoveries and expeditions.
