Exhibition of student anti-corruption posters has opened

On February 8, RSUH hosted the opening of an exhibition of student posters on anti-corruption. The invited guests were representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The exhibition presents the work of participants in the inter-university forum, which had been held at RSUH in October 2019. The forum brought together students, faculty тв representatives of advertising agencies in Moscow and NGOs. 10 student teams participated in the creative battle. They were from RSUH, the HSE and the RANEPA. Each team presented their posters to the professional and student panel of judges.

«The anti-corruption theme leaves no one indifferent,» Dr. Arkhipova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, emphasized in her welcome speech. — This project attracted the attention of a huge number of students, which is very pleasing. We will definitely award prizes to the best posters».

Dr. Irakly Bolkvadze, Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work with Students, said that the administration of RSUH was engaged in the prevention of corruption, and the University has a 24-hour hotline where you can report all suspicious facts. «A big request: help us spread information about this exhibition through social networks,» said Dr. Bolkvadze. — Take pictures, use hashtags so that students of other universities know about this wonderful exposition. In anticipation of the next Open Day, this topic deserves particular attention.

«We are not only creative people, we are also researchers,» said Dr. Galina Velskaya, senior lecturer at the Department of Marketing and Advertising. — So, on the sixth floor of the main building, we are currently holding a parallel exhibition, the one of literature about the causes of corruption and ways to combat it. I think that student research, theses and term papers should cover this topic more often».

Dr. Svetlana Petrenko, Head of the Directorate for Interaction with the Media of the Investigative Committee, also took part in the opening of the exhibition. She praised RSUH for constructive interaction and thanked Dr. Velskaya on behalf of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee. «We are investigating corruption crimes at all levels,» said Svetlana Petrenko. — The defendants are heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, mayors, heads of large corporations. During the existence of the Investigative Committee, 80 thousand corruption-related criminal cases have been investigated .... With our help, more than 30 billion rubles have been restored to the state. The effectiveness of the fight against corruption is seen in the daily work of the law enforcement system. The Investigative Committee also holds a competition of children’s drawings, dedicated to the International anti-Corruption Day. And we do not cease to be surprised at the creative solutions that children come up with in order to convey their views. Therefore, I wish you creative success and victory!».

In turn, HSU sophomores of the Advertising and Public Relations program, shared their memories of working on posters. «Honestly, we ... were not able to fully appreciate the problem. But what is important is that such topics need to be raised. We should make people think, we should study our society as much as possible. In order to cramp down on corruption, you must be an adult. We have recently read this phrase: „To be an adult means to do the right thing only because it is right.“ We are only at the beginning of the journey, so we thank you for your support».

The project’s ideological leader, Dr. Alan Abaev, Dean of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations gave thу following situation as an example: «If you buy a coat, you don’t pay for the tag. Then why are there some irresponsible students, I hope that they are one in a thousand, willing to pay not for the knowledge, but for the letter in the transcripts? Why should I pay for a tag, not a coat? Let’s value knowledge. It will allow you to enter the labor market and be competitive».

This idea is vividly illustrated by the slogan invented by a student of the RANEPA, which won the audience’s prize:

Paid for grades? Oh, only once?
Still, sign off on being a dunce

The creative action «Clean Hands», organized by the students of the Department of Marketing and Advertising of RSUH, was timed to coincide with the opening of the exhibition. They prepared sketches that everyone could colour in to their taste and add their own anti-corruption slogans.
