On June 16, 2020, the Faculty of Advertising and Public Relations held the eighth conference of young scholars “My start-up in science and profession”, which has already become a tradition ending the academic year.
The purpose of the event was to test the results of the research work of juniors in academic discussions.
The students were able to defend their research and creative projects and prepare to defend their graduate theses. The Conference was moderated by Dean Alan Abaev and Research Coordinator Dr. Anna Golova.
The sophomore’s presentations were related to areas of consumer research, product promotion, quality parameters of communication solutions, effectiveness of various forms and types of communications, socio-cultural aspects of advertising.
Conference participants talked about guerrilla marketing and viral creative solutions, product placement in music videos and feature films. An important topic was the issue of situational marketing related to the pandemic. The work was based on empirical research. Young scholars had had to interview their subjects, observe and conduct experiments.
Two projects qualified for the finals of the All-Russian Contest “Russia - the Land of Opportunities”. This competition provides a grant for the winning startup.
There were fourteen speakers in total. 45 people attended, including guests from other universities.
The faculty members Dr. Lyudmila Chasovskaya, Dr. Galina Velskaya, Dr. Viktor Pratusevich, Dr. Madina Gurieva discussed their work with students.
