On September 26, the Summer Multidisciplinary University "Russia-Africa" began its work at RSUH. The project is implemented within the framework of RAFU (Russian-African Network University) with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
The goal of the project is to support international graduates of Russian universities who are already working in African countries. This will contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between Russia and African states in the field of education, science and economic development.
At the opening of the University, the participants of the event were greeted by Vice-Rector Pavel Shkarenkov, Dr. Vera Zabotkina, Advisor to the Rectorate for International Affairs, Dr. Olga Trofimova, Head of the International Relations Department, and Dr. Alexander Zotin, Director of the Center for Applied African Studies.
Dr. Shkarenkov, on behalf of Rector Bezborodov, congratulated the students on the opening of the University, noting the importance of international academic cooperation for both sides.
Dr. Zabotkina gave a presentation of the University. She expressed her gratitude to the representatives of African countries for their interest in cooperation with RSUH. In her speech, educational programs and achievements in research and extracurricular activities were also presented.
The students from the Republic of Sudan have become students of the Summer University. They are majoring in "Best Practices in Sustainable Tourism" and "Russian Language and Culture: Traditions and Modernity".
In addition to the core program, a cultural and historical track is provided for international students, which includes trips to the museum complex of RSUH, Nikolskaya Street and the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts.
The Summer Multidisciplinary University "Russia-Africa" will complete its work on September 29. The students will be issued transcripts confirming their mastering of the programs..
