On October 24, Acting Rector of RSUH Andrei Loginov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Russian Federation Alejandro Arias Zarzuela to discuss opportunities for cooperation between RSUH and Dominican universities.
Acting Rector of RSUH Andrei Loginov spoke of the interest to develop friendly relations with universities in the Dominican Republic, establishing an academic mobility plans, preparing double degree programs, and conducting joint research.
"We would like to share our experience, teach your specialists the Russian language, which will open up great prospects for cooperation. We are also ready to offer you a dialogue in such areas as museum, archive and library studies, ethnography and archeology," said Andrei Loginov.
His Excellency Arias Zarzuela thanked the host party for the interesting proposals and expressed readiness for a dialogue.
"Back in the 1960s, the Dominican Republic declared tourism development a national strategic goal. Today, tourism accounts for 18% of the country's GDP, so we take the training of personnel in the hospitality industry extremely seriously and have introduced relevant disciplines in our universities. I propose sharing experience not only at the student, but also at the academic level," said A. Arias Zarzuela.
