Balancing Continuity and New Trends: RSUH Academic Council Meeting

At the latest session of RSUH Academic Council, outstanding employees were honored and new educational programs approved.

The session was chaired by Rector Andrei Loginov. It began with awards for distinguished staff members. The title of “Honored Worker of RSUH” was awarded to Maxim Balashov, Head of the Department of Educational Work, and Irina Rusetskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Security. Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Elena Burova, Head of the Department of Archival Studies; Anna Golova, Associate Professor of the Department of Integrated Communications; and Pavel Syomin, Lead Specialist of the Rector’s Office.

The Academic Council unanimously awarded the title “Honorary Doctor, HONORIS CAUSA, RSUH” to Professor Wang Zhihua, Secretary General of Comparative Law Union under Chinese Law Society. This decision recognizes his contribution to the development of scientific cooperation between Russia and China. Olga Pavlenko, Vice-Rector for Research and Project Activities, presented the RSUH Academic Activity Plan for the 2025–2026 academic year, which outlines a comprehensive approach to organizing research at the University. Topics of research projects to be carried out as part of the state assignment for 2026–2028 were also approved. The Council approved key provisions of the report “Legal Support for RSUH Activities: A Brief Overview” by Vice-Rector for Oversight and Analytical Work Oleg Opyonyshev. Members of the Council reviewed applications for academic titles and approved a new version of the Regulations on Scholarships and Other Forms of Financial Support for RSUH Students, as well as amendments to the Regulations on the Effective Contract. Additionally, increased state academic and social scholarships were established for December 2025.

A new continuing professional development program, “Indigenous Peoples of Russia in the Strategic Management System of the North,” was approved. It was developed as part of the state assignment for organizational and technical support of the Atlas of the Small-Numbered Peoples of the North.
