A round table was held dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Mikhail Vasilyevich Larin, Professor of Historical Sciences

On October 26, in the Academic Council Hall of RSUH, a round table was held dedicated to the 75th anniversary Dr. Mikhail Larin, Professor of Historical Sciences, Head of the Department of Automated Documentation Management Systems of RSUH

The guests of the event were leading scholars and specialists in the field of working with documents, representatives of RSUH, the All-Russian Research Institute of Records and Archives, heads of departments of records and archives of Russian universities, heads and specialists of Russian state archives, editors-in-chief of the magazines Vestnik Arkhivista and Otechestvennye Arkhivy, head of Concern VKO Almaz-Antey, head of the company TELOS-Archive, as well as foreign colleagues from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Vietnam. The guest of honor was Secretary of State, Deputy Head of the Federal Archival Agency, Dr. Oleg Naumov.

The round table was opened by the Rector Bezborodov, who noted the accuracy of the statement “a document organizes life” and expressed gratitude to the faculty of the Institute of History and Archives.

Director of the Institute of History and Archives of RSUH, Professor Elena Burova said that the Department headed by Mikhail Vasilievich is one of the leading ones at the Institute. She emphasized Professor Larin's willingness to make contact and participate in events organized by other structures.

 Dr. Larin opened the program with a message that he dedicated to the title topic of the round table "Document organizes life". He noted that this name was associated with the statement of the philologist and writer Dr. Yevgeny Vodolazkin “... the written word orders the world. Stops it from flowing. It does not allow concepts to blur”.

He also noted that the ordering of the concept of document was just beginning, and new stages of development were associated with the expansion of ideas about the document and documentation management.

Professor Vladimir Kozlov, Professor Valery Durnovtsev, Dr. Yulia Kukarina, Dr. Galina Dvoenosova, Professor Grigory Lanskoy, Dr. Mirbolat Zhakypov, Dr. Andrey Rybakov, Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archiving and Dr. Igor Nagaev, Chief Specialist of the Russian State Military Archive also made presentations that were devoted to theoretical issues related to understanding the role of the document and its transformations in the modern world.

Dr. Philip Taratorkin, Dean of the Faculty of Archives and Records of RSUH, made a presentation on the academic works of Professor Larin in the context of the academic and pedagogical schools of RSUH.
