The program is offered in the Department of Intellectual Systems in Humanities. The faculty of the department are the original creators of the major that, since 2000, has been graduating programmers and analysts in the area of artificial intelligence in humanities, including linguistics, sociology and medicine.
The specificity of the major is the presence of cycles of mathematical, programming, linguistic, social and liberal arts education with a special emphasis on artificial intelligence.
Areas of occupation: education and research; communication, information and communication technologies (in the areas of programming, information resources, systems and technologies, systems analysis, data analysis).
The program includes a large number of mathematical disciplines: mathematical logic, probability theory, differential equations, mathematical linguistics, discrete mathematics, etc.
Programming languages include C++, Java, Pyton, as well as programming for databases and programming in Prolog. Major-specific core disciplines include intelligent systems, artificial intelligence methods, design of intelligent systems, data mining, machine learning, robotics and intellectualization of robots, JSM method of automated data mining.
Graduates of the Department work at Yandex, ABBY, the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Federal Research Center "Informatics and Management" of the Russian Academy of Sciences, RSUH, the Higher School of Economics, a number of banks and computer companies (including the Russian branch of SAMSUNG).
