The Faculty of Documentation and Technotronic Archives was created in 2013 through the merging of two educational and administrative units.
The first of these was the Faculty of Documentation Management, created in 1964 to train specialists in the field of documentation support using analogue and electronic media.
The second was the Faculty of Technotronic Archives and Documents, created in 1994 to teach the process of working with audiovisual, technical and electronic archive documents (from creation to the organization of their use for academic and creative purposes).
These areas of academic instruction continue to develop at the Faculty at the B.A. and M.A. levels, via courses in English and French, preparation of textbooks materials, pertinent research, conferences and round tables.
Almost all the faculty members have academic degrees of Ph.D. and higher. Our academic partners are Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (Poland), the University of Maribor (Slovenia) and University of Trieste (Italy), Archival School in Potsdam (Germany), Hanoi University of Home Affairs (Vietnam), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University.
Our students actively participate in academic conferences and round tables held by the Faculty, publish their research in journals, organize creative competitions, receive international internship placements.
